As always, JoeJackson enriched songs spanning his whole career with newarrangements, making the old songs “new”, onceagain.Classics such as ‘Steppin’ Out’, ‘Got The Time’ or ‘A SlowSong’ but also original cover versions of some of his idols’tunes – David Bowie’s ‘Scary Monsters’, ‘Inbetweenies’ by IanDury and The Blockheads and a stunning version of TheBeatles’ ‘Girl’ with Joe Jackson alone on piano and vocals. Thetitle “Live Music” is not a coincidence. Mixed with extremecare, ensuring a warm and rich sound, the performances youcan hear on this record are exactly what happened on stage -a rare thing in an era of re-recorded live albums.
