FOTHERINGAY 2 (Sealed 2008 UK limited edition 11-track LPpressed on
180gram Vinyl – Fotheringay remain oneof the great ‘might have beens’ of British music. They lastedless than a year and released just one album but theirdisappearance robbed the early ’70s scene of a group ofmusicians capable of taking folk-rock to new heights ofsubtlety and musicianship. Now, the nine songs on that debutalbum, assumed for almost four decades to be their soletestament, are joined bythe eleven that would haveconstituted a follow-up. Sadly the group broke up during therecording sessions for their second album. Incredibly all thetapes survived in various record company archives. 38 yearslater the surviving members of the group have mixed all thematerial to finally complete this remarkable album, presentedin a sealed gatefold picture sleeve)
