Reunited shoegaze outfit Slowdive spent 2016 in the studio recordingtheir first album in over two decades. The new album follows two yearsof successful live shows. The band split up in 1995 after being droppedfrom the Creation label, but achieved cult success in the years betweenthen and 2014, when they reformed. This new album is their first since1995’s Pygmalian, which the band never actually toured when itwas originally released. The album is called Slowdive – self-titled in an echo of their debut EP from 1990 – and is remarkably direct.
